Module 3

How has this module helped you think about the impact of the Internet on your students' learning?

  1. There are a lot more resources out there than I could've ever imagined that can be used in lessons. Using the internet to do the same tasks will probably enhance student interest.

  2. These days the internet is our students' first choice when researching any subject. There is an almost limitless pool of information that can be tapped into. The internet is useful not just for student research but also to enhance teacher lessons in the classroom. Students find the interactivity of the internet much more stimulating than a worksheet or book. I really enjoyed searching the internet today for activities to include in my unit plan and am looking forward to working on them tomorrow.

  3. I have always known about how beneficial the internet can be to students, but I never dreamed there were so many unlimited possibilities for the students. I have 9 computers in my classroom and push each year for internet access, but each year it is denied. I know having internet opens some doors that may be harmful, but having internet access also opens doors to endless sites of knowledge for each student.

  4. Our students today basically grew up with the Internet. They know more about it than I do at times. I never imagined that there was this much out there for educators. There are so many activities and interactives that I know I can maintain some interest this year in my Algebra class. It takes time if you know what you are looking for but it is very useful. I would have loved to have known about some of the stuff out there when I was a student, but I am glad that I know now. It is better late than never!
